[image description: a collection of pins, patches, zines, posters, books, and paper advertisements ] I love how Chicago Zine Fest is like the high school reunion I actually want to attend. You see old friends, familiar faces, people whose names you forgot (if you're like me), and meet new folks along the way As much as I yearned for more material on strategy/paradigm building/dismantling/decolonizing (and waaaayyy less MFA art show style material) the strategy came out of the convos and the alternative distribution of money and goods. Here's to the beautiful convos I had with folks about being black and brown in punk scenes, navigating bodily autonomy in hijabs or kippahs as black and brown cane users in airports, movement ableism, and so much more. Buttons from @queerzines, two zones + one poster + one post card from @brownreclusezinedistro, the wheelhouse distro in Toronto, Nia king's queer and trans artists of color series, and @fiona_avocado's no gods/masters/tampons patch and pins. #czf2017 #chicagozine #chicagozinefest2017 #zines
