I work at a farm co-op, and this time of year is when We Sell Chicks. We have three tubs of little cheeping fuzzballs, and will have for about the next two months. I've sold 13 this morning (and I'm only keeping track because the front counter has decided to have a competition to see who sells more, them or the hardware counter). We ave Rhode Island reds, black Australorpes, two kinds of wyandottes, white cochins (they have fuzzy legs!) and Ameraucanas (which lay 'Easter eggs' in three colors). They are magical to hold.

This week a colleague shared here joy in stopping by the local post office and hearing boxes of baby chicks peeping away. She shared how much hope it gave her that indeed spring was coming.
