Chick’s always been more of a pumpkin pie and apple pie for Thanksgiving kind of bird, but now that she celebrates with her friend who prefers pecan, she’s learning to make pecan pie. (And pumpkin, which she kind of hopes no one else eats so she can have it for breakfast for the next couple days…)

Since these are essentially air, it doesn’t matter how many meringues you eat in one sitting, right?

Chick’s tiny Tiny Chef friend arrived just in time to help with the pre-Christmas baking!

After about three hours* of waiting for the sugar to dissolve, Chick prepped her piping bag and started piping meringues.

*exaggeration, but it felt like that

After this past week’s episode of The Great British Baking show (in which they made pavlovas, yum!), Chick had an itch to whip some eggs. Rather than go all out for a pavlova, she decided a nice, simple, four-ingredient meringue would satisfy. Now, if she can only find the whisk attachment for her stand mixer…

Lest anyone be concerned about this little green chicken using eggs instead of aquafaba or similar, rest in the knowledge that they are unfertilized.
