hey, I understand the origin of the down with cis meme but it still makes me really uncomfortable seeing it slapped on everything as a crass joke, so thanks for speaking up. I'm hesitant to take a stronger stance against it because I haven't actually seen anybody advocating for the death/harm/etc. of cis people through this meme like you say you've seen in your posts. Do you have any specific examples? Thanks!

I don’t have any specific examples and I’m too lazy to go look, but I bet going into the “down with cis” tag can show some examples.

I’d also rather not name any names, as I have a few examples on my mind, because I don’t want these people attacked. Even though they have different views than me, nobody deserves hate.

I had a friend who would constantly joke to me and another trans friend, saying shit like “die cis scum” and then getting angry when I said I was uncomfortable with it. He and I no longer talk.

If he’s reading this, I want him to know that I’m sorry for what I said regarding that one issue and that I’d like to formally apologize for it. You know what it is.
