Update because why not

Still out of the house, last night with my second family before I leave for my christmas weekend of awesomeness. It's been the longest two weeks of waiting but I feel a lot better today than I did Sunday. I explained to my manager what was going on, minimal work and maximum food, plus getting paid to drink for 4 hours at the bar for the happy hour lunch that never ended. Feeling pretty good atm. I'll be going back to my house Sunday night once I get back from the airport. Sunday night and Monday will be the hardest, but I have a list of things to work on getting transferred to my name, so when I move out there will be no question that I am able to support myself and be financially independent. Removing things she could hold over my head until eventually there won't be anything left but my freedom.

From anyone that knows me outside of the internet, I've been kicked out (again.) I'm safe, staying with my second family who has been more than accommodating, hiding my car so my parents won't know where I am.

The next few days will be rough, but I'm still alive (for now.) Gotta get through 2 and a half more days until I can get even further away, at least for a little while.

Already started applying for jobs elsewhere to give me an opportunity to support myself when I move out of state. Sad, I just started to make friends at my current job too... It's terrifying but necessary. I won't truly be safe until I move away from home and the toxic environment that encompasses it.

Not all families are a source of comfort. Many are toxic and often spiral into an abusive environment where you are forced to stay through years of blackmail, being threatened that you will be cut off from health insurance, that if you leave they will report the car stolen (lease payments 100% covered by me, but still registered and insured under her name,) guilting about buying things like clothes and food, being told you no longer have a right to any of those things if you don't drop all self respect and identity and obey under the guise of showing respect.

Respect is a two way street. It cannot be forced out of someone or made to be a demand. I am an adult, a human being with just as much right to live, with my own opinions, my own goals, and my own interests. Just because those things are different, do not make them any less valid. I have a right to exist.

I was at the DQ that just opened in my town, doing the family and friends pre-open stress test, and one of the employees came up to me because she noticed I was wearing my Team Nice Dynamite shirt and she just had to say something.
