When one thinks of working in a museum, one does not imagine much in the way of occupational hazards. Chick has discovered two key dangers over the past two weeks that both relate to teaching wee little chicks in the early childhood education programs: 1) getting children’s songs stuck in your head 2) a pressing desire to have little chicklets herself [3) of course, is all the germs]

This rainy night is perfect for curling up and madly reading the novel Chick must finish before tomorrow’s book group meeting.

This afternoon, the little green chick ventured out to the local independent bookstore Bright Leaf Books. Just browsing through books brings her joy, but she was even more delighted to find a collection of poems by Elizabeth Bishop just her size.

Chick plans to spend the rest of the day with her beak buried in a book.
