Aislinn likes to come up on the porch from time to time for a snack and a drink before heading back out to be a chicken again. She's not spoiled at all though, all chickens eat from statuary right? Right? It's going to kill me when it gets cold and I have to teach her to sleep in the coop instead of the house, but if I don't she won't ever get used to the cold weather and it'll hurt her a lot more. Did you know that chickens like to cuddle? Neither did I before this little sweetheart came into my life. Your eyes do not deceive you, she is indeed falling asleep with her head on my shoulder. Aislinn has been hanging out with the rest of the gang and spending more and more time being a chicken. The only time she runs for me now is if it rains really hard or its bedtime. She still sleeps in her cage in the house because I'm scared to death another raccoon will come along and hurt her. This is my fear and my problem and I know that. I finally reached my breaking point. Aislinn won't stay in her cage without having an epic meltdown and I'm weak, my nerves can't take that. I also can't handle a chicken freely pooping all over my house, my sanity, such as it is, can't take that. So I searched and I searched and I searched and finally Saint Google came through for me. They may not look pretty but by God they seem to work. Once I figured out how to keep her from tearing it off the second I set her down. She's not happy but she'll adjust. Right now she's sulking under the rocker in the living room casting murderous looks my way and grumbling something under her breath. I'm pretty sure I've been called the meanest Mommy ever in chicken at least a dozen times. I'll get over it. It's this or the cage kiddo.
