“Chuuya! You look really beaten up. Seems like your job didn’t go well.” Dazai had leaned a bit forward to get a better look before stepping away to keep a safe distance between himself and Chuuya. His words almost sounded like he was amused by the other’s current situation. It was not fully the truth, though. He was just a bit surprised to see him like this. ( He has heard that the mission was supposed to be easy. Apparently not. ) Dazai himself had spent most of his day with some other people of the Mafia, doing his usual tasks. 

“Tell me, what happened? Did they surprise you? I didn’t think you would be this reckless if that’s the case.” If he wouldn’t tell him he would find out somehow anyway. He just preferred it to hear it from him himself instead of going through the trouble of finding it out otherwise.
