Hakuoki; Edo Blossoms - Chikage Kazama
Chikage Kazama is one of those cases where your original perception of a character changes drastically as you get to know them further.
Behind his cold gaze lies a warm soul, and once you get used to his petulant veneer, he’s quite charming really... (On that note, I had to share some of my favorite quotes ^^)
His most surprising aspect is that he’s not the possessive and controlling mate we were first lead to believe in “Kyoto Winds”. Even though he keeps berating the protagonist for her constant recklessness, he actually gives her a lot of personal space and got the patience to help out while she going through her own business before reminding her of his own agenda. *wink* *wink*
Just like in Edo Blossoms, Kazama’s route is one of my favorite, even if his unrequited love ending really bring out all the feels you can muster for the characters. Though tragic, it brings out how honorable Chikage Kazama really is.
