Ohhh boy! Ohhh boy! It seems we have another Game Boy-era Weird Mario Hedgehog on this blog! Everyone, I would like you to meet “Chikuchiku!” Aren’t they just precious?

Chikuchiku is a little hedgehog who clings to walls! This behavior is exactly the same as the Sniper enemy in the same game, but as we know, Donkey Kong ‘94 just loved using more thematically appropriate enemies in different worlds! It’s a little weird, though, Sniper is a spider, so it makes sense for it to be clinging to walls. Chikuchiku on the other hand, is a hedgehog! How do they do it? Do they have gum on their shoes? Chikuchiku can also move at a variety of speeds! Some move slow, and others, for all you gamers out there, gotta go fast!

But the main reason I want to talk about Chikuchiku is because they really, really remind me of Spikey! They don’t look exactly the same, Chikuchiku has larger spikes, stubbier hands, and looks much less uncomfortable in any given situation, but I definitely feel as though these two are siblings. Spikey is the weird, older brother who has to look out for his sillier, more rambunctious sibling! Long separated, but re-united at last! Hooray! This calls for a feast!
