fire.
growing up our parents always told us "stay away from the fire" they tried to protect us to keep us away but what they never told us was that fire it could have pretty eyes and a charming smile they never told us that fire could say words words you've always wanted to hear and how the embers settle in our lungs even long after the fire blew out they never spoke about how it never leaves you that it's smoke stays saturated on your clothes and in your skin that the embers lay shouldering in your stomach that the ash coats your throat keeping you silenced parents always warned us against fire and too late we realized we were wrong too late to realize we have a bad habit of burning -z
