If I was a writer, these are the moments I would pull out my little notebook for. The one I would carry around in my pocket for times just like this, so I could capture the memory, in the moment, with words. I'd jot down the feeling, the mood, the way the lighting came in through the window to light up these faces and brighten the moment. I'd quote key phrases from the conversation, the ones I didn't ever want to forget, and describe the laughter, love, and encouragement bouncing back and forth from mouths to ears. I'd note the ease in body language and enjoyment felt between these four unrelated people eating a meal together. And I'd reflect quietly on my own overflowing heart as I take in the miracle that is this "family." Sure it's imperfect, and not yet ideal, but oh how far we have come. There is always room for improvement, but these people are loving each other well, and that brings peace and joy to this girl, that aspires to be a writer and loves them so much. #childhope #thisisfamily
