Besan Chilla is a popular Indian savory pancake made from gram flour and various vegetables. It's a healthy and delicious breakfast or snack option.
Ingredients: 1 cup besan gram flour. 1/2 cup water. 1/2 onion, finely chopped. 1/2 tomato, finely chopped. 1/4 cup spinach, finely chopped. 1/4 cup grated carrot. 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds. 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder. Salt to taste. 2 tablespoons oil.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine besan, water, and make a smooth batter. Add chopped onions, tomatoes, spinach, grated carrots, green chilies, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt to the batter. Mix well. Heat a non-stick pan or skillet and add a few drops of oil. Spread it evenly. Pour a ladleful of the besan batter onto the hot pan and spread it gently to form a thin circle. Cook on medium heat until the edges start to turn golden brown, and the chilla becomes firm. Flip the chilla and cook the other side until it is crisp and golden brown. Drizzle a little oil on the edges for extra crispiness. Remove the besan chilla from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining batter. Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
