Random fact: There’s a gene called Sonic Hedgehog, not because it makes you go fast or anything, but because when biologists were experimenting with it in flies they found that the inactive mutant form of the gene would cause fly embryos to develop small denticles all over their surface, which made them look like hedgehogs.
