see it's easy to think less of the locked tomb for how often characters talk like tumblr memelords, especially if that's the only dialogue youre seeing in excerpts, but it would be a mistake to assume that it's a result of poor writing. Rather it was a deliberate choice on the part of the author to make "tumblr memelord" the diegetic dialect of the aristocracy. It's the Nine Houses' equivalent of Received Pronunciation.

incredible things happening at american airlines today. they've increased their meal voucher price from $10 to $12! that's almost enough to buy a bag of chips and a drink! you do have to manually enter the card number, expiration, and cvv into the card reader though, and every use of a voucher has to be a separate transaction. so if you have, as a random example, lets say, hypothetically, 6 children and 3 adults in your party, each and every one of you will need to order something with a sum less than $12 and then spend 2-3 minutes manually entering the voucher info, and then complete the transaction and start a new transaction for the next person. also the voucher is only good for one transaction, so if you spend less than $12 you can't take that somewhere else and use it, it just disappears. so if you have, say, hypothetically, 9 people in your party, you cant pool your vouchers and buy actual food that would feed all of you. and if your kid starts crying because $12 doesn't cover the cost of food AND a slurpee and theyve been at the airport for 12 hours and have gone from the D terminal to the A terminal back to the D terminal, gotten on the plane, sat on the plane for 2 hours, gotten off the plane, and are now being asked to hang tight for an undisclosed amount of time and they're fucking exhausted well. thats just none of american airline's business.
