Lord X, an immortal being, is feared and respected by many. He is older than nearly every other being in The World and holds much knowledge, though seeking him out can be a deeply regrettable mistake. Lord X enjoys sick and twisted games and hunts and is not against involving foolish chimeritaurs that seek to use him, and often his toys do not survive his games. Though despite his power and immortality, he stays away from most Souls trapped in The World for reasons unknown to them.
Alan is the only Soul that Lord X hasn't killed upon meeting, he even has a tentative friendship, though more often tolerance, with him. Souls usually hunt down and kill Chimeritaurs of Lord X's breed or similar, believing them to be dangerous and hostile. Though Alan has seen through the fear and realized Chimeritaurs have no instinctual hatred of Souls. For Lord X, Alan is a way to learn where Souls are and what new hunting methods they make. For Alan, Lord X is a way to learn the truth of The World and Chimeritaurs. For both, a hope to stop the blind murder.
The reason Lord X has been avoiding Souls, his young cub, Faker. Chimeritaurs rarely go into heat and for something as old as Lord X, its even rarer, so he is intensely protective of his only cub, especially since he doesn't know if his immortality was passed down. Faker is smaller than most cubs and a late bloomer in regards of his first Shard, the term for powers and abilities that Chimeritaurs develop as they age. Without any Shards, Chimeritaur cubs are defenseless outside of claws and teeth.
