China Bones from Toronto
We have 600 likes on Facebook (and over 200 followers)?!!?
That is fucking insane. Never did we ever think that this many people would appreciate our music. It means so much to us to have all y'all's support; we wouldn't be even close to where we are now if it weren't for all of you lovely, rad and attractive people.
So this is probably as good a time as any to outline our (awesomely somewhat hectic) show schedule! This month we will be playing venues and dates as follows:
-The DIY in Barrie (December 13th)
-Toronto Anarchist Fair w/The Drunken Wobblies, Dreampipe Vermin + more (December 14th): https://www.facebook.com/events/466431183461312/
-Second Cup show w/ China Bones, Jesus and the All Stars + more (December 20th): https://www.facebook.com/events/551191271624133/
-460 show w/Hearts Right In, The Drunken Wobblies + more (December 23rd): https://www.facebook.com/events/627144497327317/
-Shake the Mountains Fest in Thornhill (December 27th): https://www.facebook.com/events/368464579966967/
There are probably more that we've forgotten, but we'll be sure to keep y'all updated on our comings and goings over the next while. <3

I've up to strange things, out in the darkness while the raccoons sing. I've been up to nothing good, (I) set the sky on fire like I said I would.
Soundtracked 49: Jenna Says
Our latest guest curated show was hosted by Jenna Krajinovic after winning the right in a raffle back at Soundtracked 46. She provided a list of bands she'd like to see and in the end we wound up with the returning Waverly Blair and The In-Class as well as a punk folk group from Scarborough called China Bones who had come to our attention after signing up to busk at Broken Arts Fest.
Soundtracked 49: Jenna Says September 19, 2013 @ Wasted Space live: Waverly Blair The In-Class China Bones Broken Arts lineup: Harley, Kathleen, Kat, Vanessa, Sierra
After 48 shows our average attendance had worked out to 34.5 people paid at the door. With only 16 people coming out for Jenna's show we were below average again. Worse, of the 8 Soundtracked shows we had held so far in 2013 only 2 were above average. September had historically been one of our best months for turnout so it was particularly disheartening. We were one month away from our landmark 50th volume of Soundtracked. At that show Harley, co-founder of the group and the only consistent member since our formation, would be stepping down from the team. The hope was that he'd be leaving on a high note, the future of Broken Arts safe and sunny. But with attendance at the worst it had been in years the future of Broken Arts was becoming more and more doubtful. 650 people liked us on Facebook and it seemed like every week we had someone telling us how much they appreciated what we did or how awesome they thought we were. But those were just words. 650 fans is nothing if you can't get more than 35 people out to a show. And if we couldn't get more than 35 people out, the question was how many more Soundtrackeds we'd be able to do.
