Recently, I've been traveling a lot for work. But last week this was my view across my kitchen table, and in my opinion, it is the most beautiful view in the world. I've noticed, in our culture, that family dinner around the table seems to be a thing of the past. But, I want a man and I to make it a point to make the kitchen table a gathering place in our home. A place where sometimes the group is a little bigger with grandparents or friends. Life gets busy and someone has to work. But those of us who are home will sit down as a family. I want this to be the spot where my kids know we talk about any and everything. Some days we are all laughing through the conversation, and sometimes we are talking about what is going on in the world. Other times we are just sharing things about our day. We need more nights where we sit around the table for a couple of hours just taking time away from all the other distractions to connect. There's never anything off-limits in terms of what we can talk about. I want Leo and Adriana to be comfortable talking to us about anything, and know we want to hear all of it! My hope is to have our kids come back with their families eventually and expand the family table. I know the memories made at this table will last a lifetime. This is one of the traditions that I want to stick to. To pass down to my kids, knowing how important it is to take time out of your life to truly be together. To talk. To listen. For them to know they are my everything, and they are the reason behind everything that I do! I am so thankful for this meal, and every meal I have with this beautiful view
