Chip butties aren't exclusively a Brit thing. It's also something in NZ and Aus thing as well. It's just an odd creation that tastes kinda nice. Bit like fairy bread.
I’ve never really seen the appeal of covering a starch with another starch, like potatoes on bread/pizza, or having rice and corn in the same meal like in some Mexican dishes
I don’t really get the appeal of fairy bread either, to be honest!! I tried it once when I was a kid because I saw my half-dutch cousins eating it, and I didn’t like it at all. It was basically just bread and sugar :P
No shame/judgment to y’all who eat these things but I just can’t get my head (or palate!) around them!
