Macaroni cheese for tea.
Gorgeous.
First gossip group of the summer.
When Thatcher was on her last legs a mate of mine and myself decided to get a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label and open it on the day she popped her clogs.
We did exactly that and, although the day itself is a bit of a blur, I do remember enjoying it. I seem to recall Sheila helping me to bed.
I’m tempted to get another bottle for when Trump kicks the bucket or - whatever.
Trouble is - I’ve no-one to share it with :-(
Point Nemo.
The most isolated and remote point on earth. It’s not a place but a calculated point in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
The nearest person to Point Nero is orbiting the earth in a space station!
Released by NASA - the highest quality images of the moon ever seen.
Latest listening.
Equinoxe Infinity - Jean-Michel Jarre.
If there’s one thing I would like to have done when I moved to Spain it’s get a bike.
Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells.
I bought it within a week of its release, on vinyl.
I pretty soon got a copy on audio cassette, for convenience and being able to listen to music on the go.
Before long things had moved on and I got it on compact disc.
Guess what? I also owned it on DVD and now I consume my music exclusively on MP3’s.
And that’s just one album! I’ve owned dozens and dozens in my time.
Can’t image what’s next - but in a desperate attempt to part me from my money there’s now a resurgence in vinyl and I even saw recently that they relaunched cassettes!
MP3’s will do for me - or YouTube.
So I reckon Oldfield owes me a pint!
MAGA.
Here’s the new mug in action.
Chicken soup for lunch in the sunshine.
Chef Zhan - 25th Anniversary with Barbara, Robert, Chris and Graham.
Chicken Soup, Beef & Mushrooms in Oyster Sauce with Fried Rice and an Irish Coffee.
It’s a warm one for the 25th anniversary!
Trump gave her attacker a FULL PARDON.
More managers/coaches thought to be under consideration at Burnley.
John Eustace, currently at Derby, previously at Blackburn. Not going to happen. Fans wouldn’t stand for it.
Robbie Keane. Distinguished playing career, Irish, recently left Ferencvaros by mutual consent after a brief and unsuccessful spell. Doubt it very much.
Thomas Frank, ex-Brentford and Tottenham. Why not? Doubt he would be interested though and would need assurances over a transfer kitty, which I doubt Burnley could match.
Since I started my Wordle journey I’ve completed 292 puzzles. No failures, except for inexplicably missing a day and ending 178 day streak. Bummer.
8 of those puzzles I’ve managed to do in 2! That’s 2.74%.
Here’s the eight so far.
Cherie Blair, wife of former UK prime minister Tony Blair.
She was never the most photogenic of people at the best of times but whilst watching a repeat of Have I Got News For You they made reference to her having paid £7,700 to have her hair done!
£7,700, 20 years ago!!!!
Look at it!!!!
Ruben Amorim was brought in at Man United in an attempt to halt a slide into mediocrity.
United had to pay £11m to Portuguese club Sporting as compensation.
He was a disaster at Old Trafford, mainly because of his dogged insistence in sticking with a playing system that didn’t suit the players he had.
He was sacked after 14 months and Michael Carrick, a former player, was brought in as interim manager.
Carrick was a resounding success and United ended the season in 3rd place, with qualification for the Champions League, something that was only a dream in January. Needless to say he signed a two year contract.
Today is has been revealed that it has cost United £13.5m in compensation paid to Amorim.
So that’s £24.5m paid for a failed manager.
Forget VAR. This sort of thing annoys me far more.
