What is a Chipalope you ask? A Chipalope is an imaginary creature my daughter and I discovered when we lived way up north in California.  In the link above, there’s a wonderful story for kids about a magical animal that lives at a place called Confusion Hill.  I found this place when I was going through a confusing part of my life, so of course, I was drawn to it...haha  The confusion had to do with a divorce, new career, being a single parent, the usual confusion causes in life, I’m slowly emerging from the confusion. But the Chipalope still have a special place in my heart. The area is also on the way to some of the most incredible redwood forests in the country -- Richardson Grove SP and Humboldt SP.One night in a tent in those redwoods and everything became clear.  

(Some of you may wonder why not “Surfnburn.” Someone else already snagged the name on Tumbler and Twitter...grrr.)
