I have decided to completely ditch Windows in favor of Linux Mint, Having moved various development environments to Linux Mint 16, from Arduino, Atmel AVR and Microchip PIC. I finally got time to setup MPIDE for ChipKIT and get the ChipKIT boards running under Linux mint.
It was a painless process for Arduino so figured it would be just as easy for ChipKIT. Turns out not so.
