In that moment, now that he thinks of it, the prince isn’t quite sure he’s ever truly spoken to the boy. Perhaps a word here and there, but nothing at length. Certainly not before the curse; and during--well, he’d never been one for conversations then. But, of course, this was after the fact. Things were beginning to return to normal--a new normal.
Adam can’t help but snort lightly as Chip ducks out of his view. Another thing out of his control is the smile pulling at his lips. Even he can remember being a child, running through the castle, playing games of hide and seek with whomever would join him. It was a lighter time.
Silence lasts for a moment longer before he decides to speak. Now he doesn’t want to intimidate the child at all, but that still doesn’t stop the authoritative tone in his voice as he asks,
“ Does your mother know you’re sneaking about stealing sweets? ”
