04/04/21 - Chiriaco Summit, CA - FREE PARKING - Made it to California where we plan to do a few National Parks starting with nearby Joshua Tree later today. We overnighted at this spot on easily accessible BLM land just behind the General Patton Memorial Museum and its tank graveyard out back. We loved the peace and quiet at the deserts edge and very much enjoyed the scenery bathed in both the early evening and early morning light. Best of all, the price was right: free.
