I think if you sent Baze and Chirrut through time from Point Of Death to "IDK somewhere in the vague stretch of time that is Jinn&Kenobi fucking around" you'd have a very fun team-up where even Qui-Gon "I listen to the Force and it tells me you're a little bitch, also I grabbed this nine-year-old" Jinn is outshone by Chirrut "I am only barely Force-Sensitive, definitely not as much as a Jedi just enough to know when a Kyber crystal is nearby because I live on a planet of it, but I trust in The Force, enough to walk blind through a firefight, anyway I'm adopting these grown-ass criminals" Imwe, mostly because I want Qui-Gon having continuous "so THIS is how people feel about ME" moments, because he was already sort of aware, on account of being an adult with a minimum of self-awareness, but also it's very annoying to him that the blind Whill monk from??? Somewhere in the future???? is fucking around with more BDE than Qui-Gon himself can without actually getting booted from the Order.

I don't think Chirrut is inherently better than Qui-Gon but I do think he is going to be significantly funnier because Chirrut doesn't have a Senate to answer to and also he's married, and what few fucks he gave were eaten up by dying in a firefight to save a bunch of planets. Qui-Gon's good but Chirrut is just. He's a lot. I love him.

Chirrut is just having a grand old time. He knows he's annoying Baze, but Baze is his husband so that's allowed. He may or may not recognize Qui-Gon's incredibly complex annoyance at him. This is fine, because Chirrut is vibing most severely with the chance to be Incredibly Zen at actual real life Jedi.

Obi-Wan is going to have a conniption. Baze buys him a drink. It's fine. (It is not fine.)
