Ego/non-ego Gifting…?

Something I’ve been thinking about since realizing Thanksgiving was around the corner and that means Christmas is very soon as well…

…The idea of gifting something you have more than enough of.

When it comes to skill crafting, when is it okay to gift flawed things? Like with sketchbooks full of drawing that are complete and lacking in skills that would make them better, or knitting projects with a few flaws, sewing projects that didn’t turn out perfectly, pottery that’s a little lopsided, and so-on.

It feels like the line between “made with love” and ego-stroking wobbles.

Trying to go along with the idea of sharing what you have plenty of seems easy enough when you craft, but that really just opens up a different can of worms.
