The Bar de Pizzas is nice traditional family restaurant in a nice district of Montevideo. Here you either can have – surprise surprise – pizzas, or you have what I had a traditional Uruguayan meal called Chivitos. It is a thin piece of beef meat with fries as side dish. On top of it there is an egg sunny-side up and slices of bacon. This traditional Uruguayan meal is very popular in Uruguay and is very delicious. For drinks we had coke and direct and organic lemonade. Very delicious! We took a seat in the patio, which is nice, but there are also several tables inside.

Uruguay's national dish, a cardiac arrest presented in sandwich form. Bread, tomato, egg, lettuce, pickled capsicum, mozzarella, skirt steak, ham, and bacon. Yes ham and bacon, because one variety of cured pork is insufficient. I ate this while watching marathon runners sweat it out on tv.
