Adding on to my last post, if Timmy was gonna end up with anyone from the OG series, why wouldn't it be Chloe? She seems like the obvious choice.
They love and care about each other and have a strong bond. Timmy and Tootie weren't even friends. A lot of the time, he wasn't even friendly towards her (again, except the couple of moments where he took pity on her.) Sure, he didn't like Chloe at first either, but he eventually opened up to her and they formed a genuine connection. I also feel that Chloe would help Timmy grow as a person- something a relationship with Tootie probably wouldn't accomplish.
Moreover, the series finale of the OG run was a Romeo and Juliet-esque episode between them that shows they'll do anything to be with each other. If that's not a sign that there's potential for this pairing, I don't know what is.
Their relationship falls under a lot of popular shipping tropes- opposites attract, childhood best friends, the grumpy one x the outgoing one, etc. Even if you don't like these tropes, the appeal is obvious. Hell, one of the ANW crew members even planned on hinting at them getting together in the pudding zombie episode by having their names written on a locker with a heart between them.
If this is the direction they want to go, they should be allowed to. I don't even consider myself a Chlimmy shipper, really, but I would love if they got together. I think they'd be a really cute couple and have a healthy relationship, which is much more than I can say for Timmy and Tootie.
And as always, fuck whatever Butch Hartman said. Do we really value that guy's opinion? I keep saying this, but the OG series has been over for almost a decade by now, and he didn't contribute anything of substance to ANW. He shouldn't be able to make alterations to the canon anymore.
Yes, obviously a boy and a girl can just be friends. I appreciate their dynamic as friends and if they weren't together, it wouldn't be the end of the world or anything. But, I just can't fight the feeling that there's more potential in Chlimmy than Timtoot (or Timtrix for that matter.)
