Bottomless pit no more
Josie is a bottomless pit. If it is on the floor, she considers it fair game. She’s stolen food out of the hands of toddlers, rummaged compost piles, even tried to steal Bear’s meds. Because of this, I typically limit her food to just half a cup twice a day. It used to be three quarters of a cup twice a day, but at that time she was 50 pounds and needed to drop some. At least a month's supply of meds - for everyone
Today seemed like medicine refill day. It included a trip to the local vet for Josie’s new antibiotic during lunch. He needs daily doses of phenobarbital to prevent his seizures. Although I was meticulous when he started, I miss more than I care to admit. I think they’ve been lucky. No heartworms, no fleas, and no…

Drugs by mail = delays
When I left the oncologist’s office last Tuesday, I had all but one drug – Chlorambucil. A special pharmacy would be calling and sending me this medication. Not a problem – that is how the Piroxicam was handled as well. Late Wednesday evening, the pharmacy finally called to get billing and shipping information. I was informed it would be going out priority mail and arrive on ice and would need…
