“ollie!! how are you?” hadley called out, speeding up to a jog when he saw the boy from a distance. he’d been holed up in his cabin for a couple days, feeling a little under the weather, a little bit just not wanting to talk to anyone. “i feel like i’ve missed so much,” he pulled him into a one-armed side hug when he finally caught up. “what’s going on?”

“ are you sure you wanna do this ? ” her hesitance is nearly tangible ; ollie is the last person she wants to hurt or push too far. charlotte doesn’t make a habit of hurting people, but she’d rather not chance it, and definitely not on him. her own sword is twirled in hand in attempt to keep her muscles warm. “ i mean, we can just train, we don’t have to spar if you don’t want. ”

1. Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?
charlotte is close with her eight year old mortal brother, but their ten year age difference puts quite a gap between them. charlotte hasn’t necessarily been close with any of her half - siblings at camp, despite sharing such close quarters with them for so long. when she first got to camp, charlotte didn’t immediately fit in with her siblings like clarisse and sherman, which made her feel isolated and distanced from her ‘family.’ she also didn’t agree with their tradition of hazing incoming campers or their aggression being directed at innocent kids.
3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
prior to the wars, charlotte was indifferent to ares. he and her half - siblings were family, but she didn’t feel a real to connection between them. after receiving his blessing twice and falling into step with a violent fighting style, charlotte dealt with conflicting emotions of enjoying battle and bloodlust, but also feeling like ares was to blame for making her feel more monster than human. with more training and meeting her father on more than one occasion, she came to understand that this was natural for her. while she didn’t entirely accept it, it was an explanation that made sense. she sees ares as a part of who she is and is still doing her best to accept that this is who she’s always been.
15. Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?
charlotte has never cared too much for material possessions like money or clothes ; she thinks they’re necessary, but not worth obsessing over. on the other hand, she hoards her favorite weapons like a squirrel would. ares kids have the ability to adapt to make any weapon work for them, but charlotte still has favorites that she thinks suit both her skill and style best. she doesn’t keep these weapons because she’s attached to them, but because she sees them as the barrier between life and death. being severely affected by ptsd, she’s only recently stopped carrying a weapon on her at all times, although she still keeps one under her pillow at night.
