I've been watching movies on the weekends to get through the huge number of DVDs that I have but haven't ever watched.

Today's 1st movie is Chocolate, a Thai film from 2008 that I'd heard was fantastic and has brilliant martial arts in it.

I wasn't expecting Hiroshi Abe to be in it. Looking absolutely hawt I might add. He plays Zen's dad, Masashi. He's only really in the beginning and the end of the film, but it's a nice surprise to see him. He even gets in on the action at the end!

Great so far. Not a fan of the editing in the first 10 or so minutes. It's like a load of music videos chopped together to get the Zin/Masashi backstory out of the way. It's fine after Zen and her mum move to their main house/flat, so maybe it's a common transistion/backstory thing in Thailand? Not sure, I've only seen one other Thai film and that was Ong Bak back in the mid-2000's. That's also brilliant by the way.

The action scenes really are fantastic. I heard the lead actress was in training for two years for the film. Wow! You wouldn't see that done nowadays, especially not in Hollywood.

So i didn't watch either movies but from i gather, the 2008 martial art movie "chocolate" is representing autistic people better than the golden globe awarded movie "music" made by sia.
