I am really NOT a morning person!!! NOT at all. I hate mornings, morning people and those who can’t just remain wraped up in their warm and cosy beds!!! Early birds, please, leave me alone and just stand up. The only thing I really care about in the morning is my oatmeal bowl with nuts, grapes and melted bites of milk chocolate. That’s what morning joy is about when no one is there for cuddling under warm blankets, for kissing you into the day or for smiling at you even when you are staring like an idiot with your small and sleepy eyes ❤️
Chocolate Drops
½ Cup soft shortening
1 Cup sugar
1 egg
½ Cup cocoa
¾ Cup sour milk (add 1 Tablespoon to milk and let it sit for a bit)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ¾ Cup flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 Cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 400F. Mix shortening, sugar, and egg thoroughly. Stir in soured milk and vanilla. Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking soda. Mix dry ingredients to the wet. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes.
