Indulge in the rich flavors of chocolate and stout beer with this creamy and decadent ice cream. Perfect for beer and chocolate lovers alike!
Ingredients: 2 cups heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 4 large egg yolks. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 6 ounces chocolate porter or stout beer. 6 ounces dark chocolate, chopped.
Instructions: Add the heavy cream, milk, and sugar to a saucepan. Place it over medium-low heat and stir it around until it starts to steam. Whisk the egg yolks and salt together in a different bowl until they are pale and a little thicker. Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks while whisking all the time. Put the mixture back in the saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring all the time, for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until it gets a little thicker and coats the back of a spoon. Do not let it get too hot. Taking it off the heat, add the vanilla extract and mix it in. To make it smooth, add the chopped chocolate and stir it in. Add the chocolate porter or stout beer and stir until everything is well mixed. Put the mix through a fine-mesh sieve and into a clean bowl. Place the bowl in the fridge with the lid on top until it is completely cold, preferably overnight. Follow the directions that came with the ice cream maker to churn the mixture. After the ice cream has been churned, put it in a container and freeze it for at least 4 hours, or until it is firm.
