Oh yes, if they can find a way to compete they will and it’s a fight to death.  I’m sure there’s some theory that it’s good for them to sort out how to get what they want now, but honestly, it’s exhausting and I am sick to death of the phrase “But I was talking first!” screamed at me from the back of the car.  I feel like running away to Wonderland is a valid life choice sometimes!

Hope your Mother’s Day is going well!  I have been gifted with the joy of a vomiting seven year old who was up many times in the night and has kept the pair of us trapped in the house (with all the washing) today, while the big kid is off doing stuff with her dad.  And mostly I am hoping that my 6 week old niece who was here yesterday returned home germ free because I’d like to my sister in law to have at least one nice Mother’s Day before she realises what’s in store! :D

It's terrible, just terrible, when your two more chapters!! become whoops, here's another 80,000 words ;)

And, yet, I still always start out thinking ‘oh this’ll be all tied up in about five chapters’.  Yeah, right.  I’m either the world’s best optimist or perpetually deluded!

These vegan chocolate crinkle cookies are rich, fudgy, and perfect for any occasion. They have a delightful crackled appearance that makes them as visually appealing as they are delicious.

Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup cocoa powder. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup vegetable oil. 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup powdered sugar, for coating.

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix sugar, vegetable oil, applesauce, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Roll the dough into small balls and coat them evenly with powdered sugar. Place the coated balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cookies are set and crinkled on top. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Wah - I think tumblr ate my reply! Yay for Emma! I'm so proud of her taking the leap. And yay for you, getting it out!

Well this one turned up, so yay!

And yes, yay for Emma!  She is trying very hard, but it's not easy to just completely let her guard down.  Except with Mr Smee, of course :)

Phew!  It took a while to get there, but it's done now, which always feels nice :D

Pfft to them. It takes as long as it takes, and we're lucky to have writers willing to share with us. I do have to laugh at your husband wanting to be friends. You've finally got all the kids in school and still no peace!

Yeah...it's a small house and it's hard to get away from each other.  I mean, sometimes, when we want to watch daytime episodes of GoT and discuss the Targaryen succession it's fine - other times, not so much :)  And today we are off to the NZ vs Aussie game in the cricket world cup, so that's another 10-odd hours together (with his mates around).  Should be fun! :D

Well, given that I’m not obliged to figure out how something can be made into a book that can be printed for a reasonable price (not to mention held comfortably to read), I’m going to enjoy every word. :)

Yeah, I wish I was competent enough to plan it out like that. Sadly I spend most of the time sitting around going "How can that be 4,000 words? They didn't do anything? They were supposed to do the stuff!" Followed by a Kermit-like flail and a desperate attempt to just write more so the story moves. Sigh.
