Falling (Eva x MC Headcanon)

I’ve seen a lot of Hero material but I haven’t seen an Eva reunion with MC fic/headcanon, so I’m giving this a shot. 

(Sorry if it’s long, this just came as a punch of inspiration in the face. I’m a big softie for my girl). Also, I used Odette Annable as my minuet faceclaim because I think she’s perfect.

Starts as angst then fluff idk? Anyway, enjoy!.

• Northbridge seemed almost back to normal. 

       Except for all the destruction in the city.

        Or for the fact Alex was still missing. It had been a week since the battle and there was no sign of her.

       Everyone was doing what they could to find her though.

• Eva started calling her. 

        Every time she tried, she was sent to voicemail.

       “Alex, this is Eva. Where are you?” “Alex, if you hear this, please … answer” “Alex … please”. 

        Eva paced from one side to another in the clock tower. Maybe this time she’ll answer.

• She watched the news daily, bought newspapers, looked for any sign of Alex in social media. But there was none.

         All of them said the same. “There’s still no sign of Northbridge’s hero-”  Scroll. “We have no new reports on the whereabouts of-”  Scroll. “We hope to find this city’s hero-”  SMASH!  

       Poppy, Dax and Kenji stared at the computer smashed in the floor, looking up at her. “I need some air, sorry”. And Eva left to the balcony, running a hand through her hair. Where are you Alex?.

       She eventually stops reading media.

• The next day, her friends are waiting for her. “Eva … we think you might need a break from the search”. Kenji said. “What do you mean by a break?”. “The city needs help for the reconstruction, maybe … you and Kenji could give a hand?. It could serve as a distraction”. Dax suggested. “Distraction?. We need to find Alex!!”. “And that’s still our number one priority”. Poppy explained. “We just want to help rebuild the city, there are blueprints we could make and everyone wonders where Talos and Minuet are-”. “I can’t believe all of you”. Eva shook her head, standing up. “We should be finding Alex”. 

• She doesen’t return to the clock tower after that.

• The team gives her space, but still tries to get in touch with her.

        They text her since she doesen’t answer phone calls. “Eva, dinner?” “Yo! Ev, we’re going to The Grand, see u there?” “Maybe later”. “Sorry, got things to do”.

       She leans back in the sofa.  She doesen’t want to see anyone.

       Well, maybe her father.

• She keeps receiving texts from her friends, but stops answering her phone.

        Unless it’s for an emergency, like Kenji needing help to save the city.

       “She doesen’t even stop for autographs anymore”. Kenji says to Poppy and Dax through his handset, looking as Minuet disappears once again after there’s no more danger.

• She visits her dad and he quickly notices something’s wrong with her. She’s sad.

        He knows her too well.

        Of course he does, he’s her dad!

• She’s hesitant to tell him the truth at first. My super hero lover is lost somewhere between dimensions. Did I mention I’m a super hero too?

      • “Do you really think I don’t know you’re Minuet mija?” He suddenly blurts out.

      • Eva is surprised. “You knew all along?”. 

      • She tells him about Alex. “Your girlfriend seems like a good person. What she did was really heroic, I’m sorry she’s still disappeared” Girlfriend?Was that what they were?. “I’d like to thank her in person for helping to put that guy in prision”. 

• When she gets out of the hospital she realizes how stupid she was for not telling Alex she loved her when she could.

• Back home she finds her cellphone full of texts telling her they would be at The Grand again. 

 She decides to go this time, it had been long since she last saw the gang.

• The night goes well, she laughed from time to time. 

       Except when the conversation drifts to Alex. 

       The last thing she knew was that she walked out followed by Kenji.

       “You prefered to stop looking for her!” A crowd gathered aroud them. “You talk and hope we find her yet you do nothing! You help in nothing!”

• “We ARE doing something!”. Kenji lost it. “You would know if you were with us instead of isolating yourself!”

      Yes, she knew they were doing everything they could, but she needed wanted to take it out in someone.

• “I LOVE HER KENJI”

      “I know, we know”. He got closer, enveloping his friend when he saw tears in her eyes. “Just … let us help you”. 

• After that night she started answering them once again.

       She appeared in the clock tower once or twice.

       Baby steps.

       Until she was there, like she used to be.

• It actually got a little better.

• One day there’s something strange happening in the city.

• TV news reporting a meteorite? headed straight towards Northbridge.

• Talos and Minuet get to where Prescott Industries used to be. 

       There’s a lot of chaos, police officers trying to calm down people.

       They make a plan to stop that thing from hitting the city.

• She’s ready to use her powers when she looks up and freezes.

        Red cape, blue suit … Alex?

        Kenji does the same.

        They would expect Alex to save the day, if only she was concious.

        She was falling at an incredible speed. She was the meteorite.

• Eva hears Dax urging them to do something.

• She’s about to slow time when they see Alex’s eyes open, filled with a pink light.

        Alex manages to avoid Prescott Industries building before fading unconcious again. 

• Eva reacts and uses her powers, but Alex still lands roughly on the ground.

• She looks at Kenji, is it real?. Alex is back?. Isn’t she dreaming?.

        She stays back as Talos rushes to Alex, cheers and glee from the people around at the sight of their hero back.

        She’s still shocked.

• They get her back to the clock tower.

• Dax does a check up, Alex seems fine.

       They leave her to rest and Eva never leaves her side, afraid she’d disappear again.

       She never stops whispering sweet things to Alex. “You know how much we missed you? How much I missed you?”

       “I thought I’d lost you”.

       “You don’t have any idea of how much I love you Alex … I love you, so much”.

• She rests her head on Alex’s lap when she hears a soft reply. 

       “I love you too, Eva”.

• Her head shots up, not believing her lover girlfriend is awake.

       Alex reaches to touch her cheek slowly when she sees Eva’s eyes watering.

       “I thought we agreed you’d never disappear on me again”. Eva whispers.

       “I’m sorr-”

       “Just shut up and kiss me”. Eva laughs

• And everything was right again.

Meiko: *looks at who’s calling* You still call your dad ‘Daddy’?

MC: *answers call and makes direct eye contact with Meiko*

MC: Hey, Kenji.

Hey anon! I’m sorry it took so long. I was thinking about declining this request. It’s not that I don’t see the appeal in Eva, I do see it, I just found it really hard to write about them. Maybe if I was romancing her, I’d know her character better and it would come easier for me.Anyway, this popped into my head and I think it turned out cute, so here ya go!LavenderSummary: After fighting off some minor crime around Northbridge, Mc offers Eva to stay with her for the night.Author’s note: Extra fluffiness! 

It was a hard day fighting crime, with no much success. Mc andMinuet followed a lead, resulting in them finding some low-ranking “villain’swho did put up a good fight, but weren’t much of a threat. 

After beating them up and letting the police handle thepaperwork of getting them into jail, Eva sighed.Standing next to her, on top of a building, Mc put a reassuring hand on herback.“We’ll get him.” She comforted.“Really? When?” Eva wasn’t like her usual self around Mc. Around Mc, she alwayslet her guard down, and occasionally showed vulnerabilities. This was probablyjust one of those days.Shaking her head, Eva turned to her, regaining her composure. “Sorry, It justfrustrates me that we’re not getting any closer to uncovering Silas.” She tellsMc, who nods.“We didn’t get any closer today, but trust me, we’re getting there.” Sheassured. Eva nodded. Taking a look at both of them, Mc realized she was exhausted. Andprobably so was Eva.“Tell you what, my place is just two blocks away. Wanna crash with me for thenight?” She asked.Eva’s eyes lightened up, even if she tried to hide it the very next moment.Suppressing a grin, she shrugged. “Yeah, why not?” Mc rolled her eyes at her, obviously amused, but said nothing. “Let’s go.”The way home didn’t take long, and soon they were both in her apartment. Shelet Eva borrow some clothes, holding the closet open and falling on her bed.Before she even knew it, she fell asleep.Just before drifting away, she felt a pair of hands warping around her. Shesmiled as she fell asleep.She woke up surrounded with a sweet smell of lavender. Trying to realize wherethe smell came from, she blinked awake.Looking around her, her room looked just like it looked yesterday, and no signof lavender was present.She didn’t own a lavender perfume of soap so it really was a mystery. Remembering offering Eva to stay the night, she looked around her once more,searching.“Eva?” She called out, not seeing her. She got out of bed, and out of her room,hair still messy and sleepiness in her eyes.“Here!” Eva called from the kitchen.As soon as Mc reached the kitchen, the smell of a delicious omelet surroundedher.The other thing she immediately noticed, was that Eva was wearing her shirt,and nothing else but a pair of purple underwear.Eva noticed her staring, and shot her a sly grin. “I love sleeping like this.”She let her know, and turned back to the frying pan.Shaking her head, Mc tried to hide the fact that seeing Eva like this defiantlymade her blush - and think of other stuff - andforced herself to other thoughts.Pushing that out of her mind, “You’re making breakfast?” She asked, flashing asmile as she got closer to Eva.Eva nodded, handing over a plate to Mc, and taking one for herself. Mc startedbrewing some fresh coffee, and they both sat by the dining table, sharing theirmeal.Mc took a bite into her breakfast. “Eva, this is delicious!” She exhaled,planting a kiss on Eva’s cheek.Eva chuckled, pretending to wipe off Mc’s kiss. “I’m glad you liked it,” Shewinked at her.While eating, Mc sensed the smell of lavender again. “Where is this comingfrom?” She questioned.“Where what is coming from?” Eva asked, but Mc wasn’t listening. Shegot closer to her, sniffing at her hair.“It’s you!!!” She practically jumped out of her sit, and into Eva’s lap. Makingboth of them fall to the ground, Mc on top of Eva, straddling her.“What?!” Eva’s gaze widened. “What’s gotten into you?” Eva blinked at her,shocked.“I woke up with the smell of lavender everywhere. And it’s coming from you.” Mcannounced, planting small kisses along Eva’s face.Eva started laughing, unable to avoid the adorableness of Mc. “You’re adorable,you know that?” She teased, making Mc stop trailing the kisses, and pulling herinto a real one.“Oh. That was…” Mc was speechless. Eva’s kisses were amazing. It always left her without words, breathless, andwanting more.“Yeah,” Maybe Eva was feeling the same spark.Going in for another one, this time Mc was a lot more enthusiastic about it,and deepened the kiss. She bit at Eva’s lower lip and pulled it hard, earning agasp from Eva’s lips. She was about to go in for a kiss again, when the coffee maker sounded a loud Ding!informing both them he finished working and the coffee was ready.Both of them were caught off by the sound, and Mc climbed off Eva.“I’d hate to stop what we’re doing, but I really need that coffee,” She told Eva’spout-y face.Eva stood up, offering Mc her hand. Mc took the hand gladly, and poured both ofthe a fresh cup of coffee.“You’ll have to make it up to me,.” Eva grinned mischievously. “I was counting on that.” Mc assured her, pulling her in for one last kiss.
