Do you know good bbq? Of course you know good bbq. It should be messy, smokey, and heavy. Look at how messy that photo is. That’s the level of messy you need.
Chop Daddy’s is now in Culver City, take out only for now, so the Chew Crew had to investigate.
I went with their signature sandwich, the belly up, which had smoked bbq pork belly with coleslaw. My sides included tater tots and mac and cheese. I even got a secret cookie with my sandwich. Secret cookie!
I think it was The Animals that sang bury my body I don’t care where cause my soul is going to live with god. I found that god in my sandwich.
Succulent pork belly so smokey that your almighty would come back for a taste. I just wanted to burst out in dance with every bite. The pork belly had lit that fire in my soul.
The tots were alright. A tad under seasoned, but I’d hit ‘em up again. I really wanna try those sweet potato tots next sermon.
The mac and cheese had one problem, the cheese sauce had sunk to the bottom. The shells were at the al dente you want and with a little fork digging there was more than enough cheese sauce to make a man or woman delighted with every bite.
I don’t want to knock a free cookie, but it was hard. Which is a sin in my book. I like my cookies like I like my cookies, soft. But thanks, I really did appreciate it. It was a nice surprise.
I can’t wait to go back to Chop Daddy’s. I can see that place quickly becoming my house of worship.
