Hey Chopped Fam!
These last few events have been so fun, and we love putting these things together for everyone! If you can believe it, we actually just finished the 20th Round of Chopped!! It’s always a blast, but we’re a little burnt out, so we’ve decided to take a little bit of a break! As of now, we have quite a few events coming out of the kitchen, but we will be waiting a bit before we proceed with any of them.
In the meantime, if any of our prompts from any round inspires you to write, we always love getting fics in our Non-Anon Collection!
The next events we have scheduled will be:
Chopped Choice: Horror!
Just like Chopped Choice and Chopped Choice: Smut, this will be one round of a Choose Your Own Adventure (Tropes) Chopped Event, but this time with a HORROR theme! Spooky, scary, slasher fics, or ghost stories, you name it, we wanna see it!
This event will take place in October, probably closer to the end of the month!
Chopped: The 100 Holiday Trope Exchange!
We had a FANTASTIC Chopped-style Gift Exchange last year, and we’d love to host one again this year if people are interested! We will release sign-ups sometime in November to allow for a couple weeks to sign up, exchange and pair up tropes, write, and then the Gift Exchange will take place December 26th!
Chopped Madness 2.0!
Guys, we are STILL amazed at how great Chopped Madness was, and we can’t WAIT to do it again! Same format as last time, but with different focus characters, and different themes/tropes (obviously)! We will release sign up’s probably in February, and the event will kick off in March!
We have a few other events that are not firmly scheduled, and we will NOT be putting on any events before October, unless something changes, in which case, we will let you know! As of now, here are the events we intend to host in the future:
Chopped Choice: Western!
Like Chopped Choice and Chopped Choice: Smut, but WESTERN themed! This event was highly requested, and we are super excited to host it at some point!
Chopped 4.0 - VISUAL CHOPPED!
Similar to regular Chopped, this will be a four round event, but this time the prompts will be in the forms of Moodboards, made by yours truly, that will function as the inspiration for the fics!
Chopped Choice: Throwback!
For this event, writers will choose a previous round of Chopped and write a fic with that original prompt, but there’s a catch (of course)! We will supply a secret bonus trope at the beginning of the writing period that every writer must utilize in their fic!
Chopped Chapters!
This was thought up by the awesome @probably-voldemort! The event will run like regular Chopped, but with a twist. We will supply the tropes and themes for the first Round, and you write a fic. Then, we supply tropes and themes for Round 2, but your fic for Round 2 will have to be the next chapter of your Round 1 fic, and so on and so forth! Can you avoid backing yourself into a corner? Can you make your fics flow together in a cohesive story without knowing what we’re gonna make you do next? Lets find out!
Chopped Choice: Conclave!
Just like all our Chopped Choice events, this will be one round of a Choose Your Own Adventure (Tropes) Chopped Event, but this time with a Canonverse theme! To make this event extra special the writers will select a Clan/Location in the 100 World, a Character, a Theme, and set of Tropes that are different from everyone else. Only one writer can use each trope, clan, character, and theme! Can you sign up fast enough to get the tropes you want? Can you make an awesome fic with the left over choices? Let’s find out!
We are always open to suggestions for new event ideas to put on our list, so if you’re just itching for us to do something, don’t be shy!
We would also love to hear when you think these events should take place. We know everyone is busy with school, work, life, a pandemic, etc., and we want to foster a positive and comfortable space while also being sure not to overwhelm or stress anyone out!

We really can’t ever express how much this little space we’ve carved out means to us. We never expected the response we’ve gotten when we decided to put together the first Chopped, and we are still so shocked every time. With your help, we’ve put 197 fics out into the fandom for everyone to enjoy, with so many rare pairs, crazy trope combos, and truly original and amazing stories. You guys take our crackpot ideas and turn them into magic. Our tropes/themes would be nothing without you taking them and nurturing them into stories that continue to wow us every time, without fail. We hope that when we come back, you’ll be here to jump into Chopped with us!
