Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them.
1. What worries you most often?
Money. I didn't grow up with a lot and I ended up missing out on a lot of school trips and activities because I didn't want to place a financial burden on my parents. Even though I do well for myself, I still worry about whether or not I will have enough for the next emergency.
2. How do you “treat yo’ self”?
I shop, which is ironic considering my biggest worry. But if I'm really stressing about money, then I may just go to a bakery and buy a slice of delicious cake or pie.
3. What song gets you pumped up for a night out?
4. Tell a funny/embarrassing story about yourself.
I was in marching band in high school and one cold autumn night, condensation was forming on the keyboards of the xylophone, marimba, etc, so I went to the girls' locker room to get some towels. On game days, the visiting team uses the girl's locker room. Yep.
5. Favorite sport to play?
7. How did you get your current job?
It was a crazy coincidence, considering that I graduated in the late summer. I was feeling a bit bummed because I had had a great interview at Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia, but I wasn't going to be hired because I was graduating and getting certified so late, even though FCPS' first day of school doesn't start until after Labor Day, like CPS. Anyway, I had to do my clinical experience during the summer and Dominican did a great job of placing me with school libraries that were still open. My second clinical coordinator was a great lady who has since retired. One day, another Dominican alum who had also completed her clinical with my coordinator sent her an email stating that she was leaving her position and that the principal would be interviewing for positions soon. My coordinator suggested I email my resume and cover letter and before you know it, I had an interview. I literally got hired about a week before the start of the school year and I was a probationary teacher until I got officially certified about a week after the school year started. I also want to give major, major props to Dominican University because both the head of the School Media Program and the Education Department did everything they could to expedite my certification.
8. Have you ever had any surgeries?
9. What’s something you really wish someone would buy you for your next birthday (reasonably priced)?
Man, I'm so bad about figuring out what I want. I don't know if this is reasonably priced, but I would like a stand mixer.
1. What would be your last meal?
2. On that note, how would you like to die?
3. What was your favorite field trip as a student?
4. What is one thing you like the best about yourself?
5. If you had $100, how would you spend it?
6. How do you deal with stress?
7. If a movie was being made of your life, which actor/actress would you select to play you?
8. Chips and salsa or chips and guacamole?
9. Would you ever spend the night in a haunted house?
