This was a bit of a delicate situation. CC knew that much. The other was clearly upset, so he’d need to navigate the situation as best as possible. Which, would be rather hard because androids were all so different from one another and he didn’t know Connor all that well. Not well enough to know exactly how to handle him anyway, so there would be some guess work involved.
Carefully walking up beside the distressed android, he gently laid a hand on his shoulder. Some androids at Jericho had been abused by their previous owners or other humans and, therefore, didn’t like to be touched. Just in case that was the case here, he made the touch light and easily escapable.
“I’m sorry that you got swept up in what you did, and I’m sorry you didn’t have anyone there for you.” No one to be his lifesaver. CC at least had friends in the military that he loved dearly. Not all androids were lucky enough to have someone close to them. Connor may not have anyone other than himself in this stressful moment in his life. “Do you want to talk about it?”
"why aren't you wearing any pants?"
@chosedeviancy
“Because it’s hot as fuck in this goddamn house, Connor. And it’s my goddamn house, where I can walk around with or without pants at my own discretion, thank you very much.”
Sounds like someone’s been drinking. Thankfully not as much as usual, but enough.
“Don’t you go takin’ yer pants off, though. That’d make it weird.”
“Hey, Connor.”
It’s late—far past the end of a typical day shift at the office—but the human/android team are only now getting finished with their job. The trip to Elijah’s house had been exhausting, but overall Hank was feeling a satisfying warmth that he’s been stranger to for a long time. The sort of comfortable sensation one experiences in the presence of a friend; in the presence of someone they believe can be trusted. It’s been a long war of first despising and then simply mistrusting Connor—but now? After the android’s choice not to sacrifice another life for his mission, things seem… different.
They’re standing outside Hank’s house, now. With nowhere better to go, he found himself driving straight home. There’s nothing wrong with that, except…
“Where do you even go when you’re not buggin’ the shit out of me?” Essentially, he’s asking where Connor stays when not on a mission; it isn’t as if he has a home, right?
@chosedeviancy
"hey! we have to try this!" he was already taking hold of the other's hand and taking him over to the roller-coaster line. it might be long, but connor was rather excited to be able to enjoy the finer things in life for once.
@chosedeviancy
Rhys was trying to look at the park map to get a sense of where all the rides were when he felt one of his hands be taken. The brunet nearly tripped over his own feet as he tried to right himself a little bit more as he was brought over to the roller-coaster line. He glanced between Connor, the line, the actual ride, and back again as he gave a small smile.
“Not a bad first choice. That looks like a lot of fun. I hope we can hit up as many rides as we can. This was a great idea.”

"i'm always here if you need me, hank."

Always here. Always.It’s the kind of promise Hank normally scoffs at—this time isn’t muchdifferent, but the reasoning is quite unique. Humans can’t promise somethinglike forever; they’re too fragile ( too weak) to be able to keep that commitment. Androids are different. They don’t decayor fail because of old age. They never tire or need time for themselves to dealwith stress and bad emotions. Deviants are a mild exception, but the core truth remains: a promise of always by an android is a believableone.
Except, deep in his heart, Hank still knows that Connor candie. He can be killed; he can be deactivated; he can be recalled. It’s a different set of obstacles and although thechances are higher than a machinewill persist long after a human’s life has crippled and disabled them, there’sreally no guarantees in their world. Anything can happen. Anyone can leave.
But he wants to believe it. Even then it’s difficult and his frown lines deepen ashe stares down into what’s left of the amber liquid in his glass.
“Haven’t neededanyone in a long damn time.” Everyone has their defense mechanisms and Hank’swas to shut everyone out. “…Not sure I know how, anymore.”
And down goes the rest of his drink.
