Kara had never been the type to yell, but she had had enough. Approaching an obviously-exhausted Oliver, she wasted no time in picking him up, slinging him over her shoulder, and heading upstairs. "You need sleep and 'no' is not an option. I'll keep an eye out for our bad guy." Once free of the stairs, the Kryptonian left the ground, flying up to the third floor toward the bedrooms, where he was dropped onto the nearest bed. Her arms folded over her chest stubbornly. "Okay?"
It was taking everything he had to keep his eyes open but he needed to be here, ready when they found their target. He couldn’t let anyone lay waste to his city. In as much time as it took for him to force his eyes back open after blinking, he found himself in the arms of the girl of steel as she led him out and flew him up towards the bedrooms. He glared at her when she dropped him onto the bed. “I don’t need sleep. I’ll be fine.”

The wind gently dances up through the city, brushing through blonde locks as heels click along damp asphalt. The smell of rain tempers the heavy scent of alleyway that became so ingrained in the beat of a young reporter’s origin story that the nostalgia can’t be smothered quite as much as the scent might and her chin dips upwards to inhale it.
It swells her chest--tingles down her throat like icicles dancing along chilling skin--and the faintest smile tucks up weary lips as she walks.
She knows this city, of course, like the back of her hand.
Catherine Jane Grant wasn’t raised in National City, but National City was raised underneath attentive, careful fingers--Cat Grant was born into a symbol; an emblem--and it’s not surprising that a few people stop and stare as she walks, the prodigal CEO’s return dampened by the noise and hum of the city. But her gaze doesn’t falter.
She’s not here, of course, to run a company, and when she passes underneath the flickering, neon lights of an Interlac sign (thanks, Olivia, for that little useless tidbit) the faint jostle of the overzealous Alien Bar bell rings in her ears far louder than the clicking of her heels ever could have.
And there the girl is.
“Well, well, well, Kara Danvers.” Cat slides into the bar stool next to a familiar set of shoulders without invite, coat tucking along her hip as she hums, “Imagine finding you here. Does this mean you’ve wrapped your fingers along the next ring of success in the ever-tipping totem pole of journalism, becoming more and more like the greats you’ve admired? Alcoholism is a writer’s best tool, after all.”

“Well, a lycan if we’re getting technical. I want to say I adopted her, but some days it feels like she adopted me.”

It wasn’t often that Bruce travelled to smaller cities for business, and usually he had ulterior motives when he did. National City was no different. Bruce’s excuse was that he was looking at condemned building to buy and build something new on, all so that Batman could survey recent gang activity. Clark warned him about the Red Hood gang resurfacing in Metropolis a few weeks ago, and just last night Penguin politely informed him of the gangs expansion to National and Keystone.
He’d heard about Kara from Clark, but never met her. Not until today at least. He kept tabs on her, but he that was different to knowing someone, he wanted to get a gauge on her personality before he went out as Batman. He wasn’t in any immediate desire to be thrown through a floodlight.
“Kara Danvers,” he said, approaching the blonde. “Bruce Wayne. I’m a friend of your cousin.”

“What the?” Did one of his enemies somehow wipe his memory and knock him into another universe. This place hadn’t heard of him at all!? Well he was in some comics, films and tv series. But that was it. And this was not New York city, or Queens, or Manhatten.. He seemingly swung around aimlessly until... He saw thugs trying to rob a bank. Then he dropped on their escape truck. “Hey, didn’t your mothers tell you it was rude to steal?” He was ready to fight them. Then fix his multi-verse device.
