First of all, I need to point out that that's straight up in katakana and not a translation, as in:

And secondly, that the english lessons have been an absolute "hold your hand through the process" whereas they expect you to just straight up know things in other subjects.

And so,

And

"Are you a person of talent?", what it means, answer it as if you were a foreigner.

Elucidate "a person of talent". Like Let's break every bit of it down yeah?

It looks like (she's) asking you what "a person of talent" is.

So first of all,

Err, so, first of all, what is the meaning of "person"?

a person of excellence

And ooo, this one is very clever actually, because we do call public performers/entertainers "talent".

Again, there is that mix of english and japanese, and I confess that one of my guilty pleasures is to read this out with an equally "give the japanese words an english intonation" sort of thing... ^^;

And then the rest of it...

'Talent' (in katakana/japlish)... in other words to have ability, "are you a person of excellence?" is what (I'm) asking.

Likewise your being able on answer it on the fly makes you A person of talent!

By the way, the origin of 'talent' is the gold coins called 'talents' that make an appearance in the bible (word is lit. "holy book")

However depending on the situation, to be able to change one's mask is surely a 'talent' granted by the gods... it's a talent (the japanese word this time: 才能 sainou, talent or ability)

The talent/ability to change masks... Does it mean that we are also 'talent'...!?

Needless to say this is about changing one's guise or, errr, persona XDD when dealing with different people or situations, but also, yeah...
