Little Bit o’ Chrimbas Cheer
On Friday, a good friend of mine had a terrible thing happen.
Her van got stolen out of her apartment parking structure.
The police found the vehicle later in the day on Saturday, and we thought it was all good...
Nope. The thieves had not only taken all of the things out of the van, which included a lot of her LARP gear, they had removed basically everything except the driver, and shotgun seats.
She, being a poor millennial, didn’t have theft protection insurance, so her auto insurance couldn’t do anything for her. Her tenant insurance also told her they couldn’t do anything as her deductible would be more than what she had lost.
I decided that this was not a good way for her to start the holiday season. So I created a Go Fund Me on Monday night.
Our friends surprised me and we had raised almost $500 by yesterday, and today I met up with her and a few other people to give her this gift. She was completely surprised and caught off guard.
Best present I have to give this year.
