Question about any/all Cooper x Lucy fics you’ve written (I will leave it up to you which ones you feel like answering for 🥰): What’s a small bit characterization or detail you worked into your fics that you’re super proud of but are fairly certain no one else noticed?
This is such a great question. I really had to sit and think on this one for a minute..
For Lucy, I wanted to make sure she was never seen as a little girl, she isn't helpless. I wanted to make sure that she came off as capable. I wanted to make it clear she didn't need rescuing, that even if cooper wasn't there she would have made it. As well making sure Lucy was more than just Cooper's girlfriend.
Going to Cooper, he always listens, he always takes what Lucy says seriously. He wants to be there for her but as a partner, as a teammate. They work together, they grow together. Despite who he is he is still open and vulnerable with Lucy.
They both become more of their genuine selves with the other. The two sides of one coin, they need the other.
I think any time I put cooper/lucy or lucy/ghoul together I want to make sure their lives parallel each other. It is such a big part of the show and of who they are. Their lives may be separated by years and experiences, but they always end up mirroring each other.
