chris’s new backstory because why the hell not (tw: death, abuse, self harm)
He and his sibling were both born artificially. They both got adopted by an older couple, who were in a cult called The Church of Christian Faith. When he was 9, his sibling vanished, and a year later, his father died due to heart failure. He was bullied extremely badly at school, and both of these things made it worse. He learned that his mother didn't actually believe in the cult. He didn't either, so they kept it secret. His mom taught him how to hide his non-belief, and other things as he grew up. He got a girlfriend when he was 14. He was abused by her. He was attached though, in some sort of twisted attraction. He eventually snapped out of it and left when he was 15. He was shunned and harrassed, as he was blamed for the abuse. He developed depression because of this. His habits started to get more and more destructive, and he grew suicidal. He met Luce when he was 16. They became friends very quickly. He hid his depression from him, and when he developed a crush, his feelings. One day, Luce found him cutting himself. Luce managed to stop him, and Luce started trying to help him. Luce managed to make him go to a therapist. He got an official diagnosis along with some medication. He started feeling better. His feelings for Luce grew more and more, until he eventually confessed to him when he was 19. Luce accepted, and they started dating in secret. He and Luce were excommunicated from the church a year later when they were found out. Chris helped Luce find and move into a new apartment, and they both were accepted into the same college.
