chrisse1973 Val Kilmer has passed away. I remember laughing about him as an accidental spy in East Germany in the action comedy Top Secret and I remember how I couldn't stand him as Maverick's antagonist Iceman in Top Gun. But above all, I remember admiring him in his role as Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's film The Doors. l've always been a big fan of the band and their charismatic frontman - and was initially very skeptical as to whether his fragile genius could be brought to the screen at all. But in the end, the movie blew me away. I watched it several times at the cinema. And of course I bought the soundtrack to add to my collection of Doors records.
