A Prayer for a Grieving Heart
On September 12th my Aunt Christine Anthony celebrated her 101st birthday yesterday she passed away suddenly. This is in her memory.
We heard your voice just a while ago, you were encouraging us to stay strong in the faith. To never give up, to keep fighting. You said the joy of the LORD was your strength.
There was laughter and love abounding in those moments, now our hearts are heavy for you are gone and we cannot follow.
Father God, we thank you for the long and generous life you gave to us in your daughter Christine Anthony. We are grateful for each and every day that we had with her. We need you to guide us and to comfort us through this troubled time.
As your son rises ever eternally, so do our hopes and dreams of tomorrow. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
It was your will to take her home to rest and we accept this as hard and it is. We will see her another day in a better place, in our home above the clouds. Amen.
