Book haul?

mind you, I'm a "see the name and look into it" kind of person, so as soon as i catch sight of a book name more than twice I'm immediately like "welp, now i gotta read it!"

so now i just have a bunch of books that i read a brief description of and was like "ykw. yeah."

At this point, I'm declaring Son of Godzilla as a Christmas movie.

It was released in December 1967, so I'm going with that. Besides, is there a better closing shot than that?

i liked the chapter! but reading my ask, i realize i was maybe unclear, i meant christmas eve/day today (bc of orthodox christianity, which is practiced where i live), like i got excited this morning for today's chapter more than i was looking forward to christmas festivities and dinner lol (we don't do presents btw)

Aha, my bad! I did not know about orthodox christianity observing in early Jan. I'm flattered that the chapter excitement exceeded christmas, especially dinner! 😄 I can't find an English word, it seems orthodox churches here use the word from the country their members mostly originate from.

No presents sounds great tbh, it's expensive and such a pain to think of what to get everyone. Plus I dread the social awkwardness when someone gets you a present but you didn't think you were at that level so got them nothing.

No one I know is even christian, it's mostly a cultural (capitalist) holiday at this point. Because it's during summer here it tends to be a good excuse to take off work for a few weeks while the kids are on their long break.
