from I Look Divine (Christopher Coe, 1987)
"I thought about carnal pleasure, and looked around and felt certain that something cataclysmic was well on its way. All of this is easy to say in retrospect, and I'm not claiming prophecy. I'm not playing Cassandra. I did feel, though, and I believe it is true, that disasters, all kinds of catastrophe, are always coiled up and ready to spring, and that the happening of them has been scheduled, some how, long in advance.
I didn't know when it would come or what form it would take, nor did I know that no man can give another safety in it.
There will always be one final everything -- the last word, of course, the last breath; there will be one last check you write, one last nap, one last artichoke. There will be a last time you chop scallions, a last movie you will see, a last time you fly to Rome. It doesn't matter how many coins you leave in the fountain. You will make one last photograph, and be photographed one last time by somebody else; there will be one last time you walk on a particular street, one last time you will go out from your house or come back into it. You will have one last dream, one last orgasm, one last cigarette. There will be one final time you will see or will be seen by the man or the woman you have loved, or the people you have known, unless, of course, you outlive them all, which is not likely.
You will lick one last stamp. You won't know it when you do."
-Christopher Coe, "Such Times" (1993) Pg. 107

Carl is king.
For over 30 years Carl Cox has defined what it means to be a club DJ. His unmatched versatility and animated antics behind the decks have made him a living legend. One set will be raw techno. The next tinged with drum ‘n’ bass. It’s impossible to predict what he is going to deliver, and his latest release is a testament to this fact.
