Facing debts of £4.4 million, 50-year-old Christopher Foster told a friend:

‘They're not having my stuff. I will top myself. They will carry me out of the house in a box'.  

Having hidden his financial woes from his wife and 15-year-old daughter, Foster decided to take matters into his own hands, and in 2008 shot them both in the back of the head in their 5 bedroom mansion in Shropshire.  Following the murders, Foster went outside and shot their dogs and horses, before setting fire to the family home and blocking the property entrance with a horse box.  Once alight, Foster walked back into the property, where his body was discovered lying on top of his wife.

Rocky Djelal, 34 (31.1.80), of no fixed address, was charged on 4 July with the murder of Christopher Foster in Borough High Street on 29 November 2013.

He appeared in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on 5 July and remanded to next appear at the Old Bailey on 8 July.

Five other men have been charged with the murder of Christopher Foster and will stand trial at the Old Bailey on 6 October:
