“My name is Jonah Cavanaugh and I’m a mutant. I wasn’t tryin’ to be a hero, I was only tryin’ to do what’s right…”
The Uprising started when a group of mutants calling themselves Cavanaugh’s Army attacked the McConnell Air Force Base in Witchita, Kansas. More and more groups around the country popped up and videos of mutants attacking military bases, setting fires to courthouses and fighting police in the streets went viral moments after being put online. They were shown on news broadcasts, captured and printed in newspapers and the panic spread. Everyone was looking for an answer to the violence, wondering if it would be their neighbor or friend or child that attacked next. The general consensus was that there were only two options: neutralizing the threat at large or finding a cure.
There are over 100 Mutant Rehabilitation Centers across the country, all catering to a different age group, from children to the elderly. While the government continues to keep their promise of containing and medicating the threat to it’s people, these facilities are also used for the purpose of studying the mutations that have manifested in each individual and the which genes are responsible for these mutations. Five of these MRCs focus specifically to the group that seems to have the most fascinating development of mutations: twins.
